The End of Workshop Events “From Protocol to Approval: Ethical Guidelines for Animal & Clinical Research”

The Faculty of Pharmacy concluded the activities of the specialized workshop organized by the Scientific Research Ethics Committee under the title

“From Protocol to Approval: Ethical Guidelines for Animal & Clinical Research”, with the participation of 40 researchers and academics from different universities and research institutions, within the framework of supporting ethical practices and enhancing the quality of scientific research.

The workshop addressed a number of important topics, including ethical principles in scientific research, international guidelines for animal studies, the role of ARRIVE guidelines in promoting the quality and transparency of research, as well as regulatory frameworks for clinical research and steps to obtain ethical approvals, while presenting the most common mistakes in accreditation applications and how to avoid them.

Whereas the workshop was presented by the following professors:

Prof. Dr. Amal Kamal Hussein – Professor of Pharmaceutics and Vice Dean of the College for Graduate Studies and Research,

Prof. Dr. Fatima Madi – Professor of Pharmaceutics and Coordinator of the Clinical Pharmacy Program,

Prof. Dr. Shaimaa Faisal – Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology and holder of the IAUTP certificate from the University of Calgary – Canada.
