The Department of Pharmacognosy at the Faculty of Pharmacy launched a practical project for fourth-year students (Pharm D and Pharm D Clinical) within the Phytotherapy (Alternative Medicine) course. The project aims to link theoretical study with practical application by using natural plants with distinctive colors to prepare 100% natural medicinal preparations.
The students formed groups representing pharmaceutical companies. Each group chose a popular medicinal plant and designed a complete product including a poster, a brochure or label, and a scientific data sheet containing the plant's benefits, dosage, side effects, and toxicity, based on recent research sources.
This came under the auspices of Dean of the Faculty Prof. Mustafa Fouad, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs Prof. Hatem Sarhan, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Prof. Amal Kamal, and under the supervision of Head of the Department of Pharmacognosy Prof. Ahmed Abdel Azim.
