Launching the Center of Excellence for Molecular and Tumor Biology Research "Nile Can"

Prof. Essam Farhat, President of Minia University, conducted an inspection tour to follow up on the start of the first research excellence center, which was held in the Faculty of Pharmacy under the title of "Center of Excellence for Molecular and Tumor Biology Research - Nile Can". This project is a new achievement of the Faculty of Pharmacy as the first research center of excellence at the university specialized in molecular biology and tumor biology which represents a vital step in supporting interdisciplinary scientific research that aims to serve the community through accurate and advanced scientific research.

Dr. Marco Zaki reviewed the center’s capabilities and research objectives, which focus on studying the most common cancers such as liver and pancreatic cancer and developing innovative tools for early detection, in addition to creating advanced treatment strategies.

During his tour, Prof. Essam, was accompanied by Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Prof. Ayman Hassanein, Engineering Advisor to the President of the University and Academic Vice President Prof. Abu Hashima Mustafa, and General Secretary of the University Dr. Basem Mahmoud.

Whereas the delegation was accompanied by Dean of the Faculty Prof. Mustafa Ahmed Fouad, former Dean of the Faculty Prof. Mohamed Abdel Aziz, and Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs Prof. Hatem Abdel Monsef, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Prof. Amal Kamal, Head of the Department of Biochemistry Prof. Mustafa Fathy, Director of the Center and recipient of the Newton Award Dr. Marco Zaki, a number of academic staff, and Secretary of the Faculty of Pharmacy Mr. Mohamed Imam.
